https://vamos.sahibinden.com/The Volkswagen Tiguan brings some much-needed European flair to the crowded compact SUV segment. Completely revised for 2025, it features new styling inside and out, improved interior design and material choices, and updates to its infotainment with larger 12.9- and 15.0-inch touchscreens. Mechanically, the Tiguan moves to VW’s EQB evo platform (the same one that underpins the GTI hot hatch; good news for sporting drivers). The trusty turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder is goosed for an additional 17 horsepower for a total output of 201 ponies. Wheelbase and overall length are increased by about an inch, which should mean increased cargo room, but the optional third row of the outgoing model will no longer be available. VW says the new Tiguan is lighter by some 170 pounds which, and its sporting soul carries over untainted. Fully refreshed, the 2025 Tiguan is better poised to compete against other crossovers such as the Honda CR-V, the Mazda CX-50, and the Kia Sportage.
What’s New for 2025?
Nearly everything. The third-generation Tiguan benefits not only from a fresh platform and a more powerful version of VW’s ubiquitous turbo 2.0-liter four but also from updated interior features and tech. Three new exterior finishes, Avocado Green Pearl, Ascot Grey, and Monterey Blue Pearl, join the palette to underscore the all-new exterior design. We’re slightly disappointed to report that the former third-row option will not be available on the new 2025 Tiguan.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
The price of the 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan starts at .920 and goes up to .180 depending on the trim and options.Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The new Tiguan benefits from that age-old equation that brings warmth to the heart of any enthusiast: More power and less weight. Specifically, VW’s trusty turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder gets bumped from 184 to 201 horsepower and the overall weight drops thanks to the increased use of aluminum in the suspension components and high-strength steel in the freshly crafted sheetmetal. During our test drive of the Tiguan, we found that it offers the same eager handling as before, and we appreciated the heavier steering effort. The turbo-four is a pleasant engine, but it’s not as responsive from a stop as we’d like. A more powerful version of this engine will join the lineup for 2026 in the R-Line Turbo trim.
0-60-MPH Times
We haven’t yet tested the new Tiguan, but we expect it will get to 60 mph in between 7.7 and 8.7 seconds, depending on configuration. We’ll update this section once we get one at our test track.
