Along with the rest of the T-Roc range, the T-Roc R, the most potent version of the car, has been given a mid-life facelift to make it even more appealing. A revised grille makes it look slightly different from the outside, while a completely redesigned interior now has a slicker look, higher quality materials and improved ergonomics.

What hasn’t changed, however, is the powertrain, which still uses a turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine to send 300 metric horsepower to all four wheels, although that’s still around 20 horsepower down on the powertrains you get in the Golf R, Tiguan R and Arteon R. Nevertheless, the T-Roc R is still capable of sprinting from 0-62mph in less than five seconds, and can hit a top speed of 155mph.
